Simple Bible Lesson on Solomon and Proverbs

Solomon is one of those Bible characters that started off so strong and then, well, kind of blew it. Way too many wives caused way too many problems. The biggest of course, is the introduction of idols in his life. This simple Bible lesson on Solomon and Proverbs will focus on the wisdom that God gave him.

There is no “God’s story” video for Solomon, but you can go to PursueGod.org for a video. You can also scroll down on that page to get a downloadable lesson with an activity page and game ideas.

For older kids (and for teachers) The Bible Project does an amazing job of explaining books of the Bible and concepts in the Bible. This one on Proverbs gives a great overview of the book.

Paper and Projects

Truewaykids.com (for kids five and under) has two different lesson for Solomon.

Solomon includes information on the building of the temple. As always, there are plenty of colorful activity pages and a template for a temple craft.

Proverbs – Since Solomon wrote the majority of the proverbs, I’m including this lesson as well. There are five proverbs covered in the lesson. It has some fun game ideas and a cute ant craft.

Older and younger kids might enjoy this hidden pictures puzzle  

Older kids can write down and illustrate Provebrs in this Bible Proverbs activity book.

They can also use the comic book template I made to make a strip about Solomon asking God for wisdom.

LEGO Challenge

For this LEGO challenge, have your kids build a temple out of LEGOs, Duplos, or blocks, or anything else for that matter. OR if they are into Minecraft, have them make a temple in Minecraft!
